In the evening of December 31, 2009 the Hamlin Fire Department was alerted to a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Hamlin Rd and the East Fork. The sole occupant of the SUV was a sign off. The white car had three occupants, one was also a sign off, one went to Strong Hospital ALS, and the final occupant also went to the hospital BLS. Hamlin Heavy Rescue 248, Squad 2418 and Engine 242 responded.
