Before the Hamlin Fire Department was formed in 1927, there were two hose companies that would collectively hold an annual field day. It began with a parade, where the firemen would pull their respective hose carts down the street while the Chemical Company proudly paraded their Model T. The firemen were then joined by Hamlin citizens and various organizations marching or featuring decorated cars and floats. The afternoon events included shows, food & beverage, and a baseball game immediately following between the Hamlin Firemen and a neighboring town.

The very First Field Day was held on August 29, 1914, and within many years to follow, Carnival-style rides were added to become what is now known as the Hamlin Firemen’s Carnival.

So, in celebration of 103 years of the Hamlin Firemen’s Field Days and the fact the Hamlin Fire Department happens to be turning the ripe old age of 90 years old in 2017....

The Hamlin Firemen’s Carnival will be moving back one weekend this year to August 17 - 19, 2017.

There will be more details coming on the complete list of events, bands, carnival ride company, parade and much, much more. Thank you for all your support!!
